Gastrointestinal Disorders

We offer a range of infusion therapies to support individuals living with gastrointestinal disorders, helping manage conditions that affect digestion, nutrient absorption, and overall gut health. Below, you’ll find an overview of the different conditions we support and the therapies designed to improve outcomes and quality of life.

Crohn’s disease is a chronic inflammatory condition of the gastrointestinal tract that can affect the mouth to the anus, but most commonly impacts the end of the small intestine and the beginning of the colon. It typically affects young adults and presents with symptoms including diarrhea, abdominal pain, and weight loss.

Gastroparesis

Gastroparesis is a condition in which the stomach’s ability to move food into the small intestine is slowed or stopped, without an actual blockage, affecting people of various ages. Key symptoms include nausea, vomiting, feeling full quickly when eating, and abdominal pain.

Irritable bowel diseases (commonly referred to as inflammatory bowel diseases, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis) are chronic conditions that cause inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract, affecting people of all ages. Symptoms typically include abdominal pain, diarrhea, fatigue, and unintended weight loss.

Monoclonal antibody therapy is a medical treatment that uses laboratory-produced molecules to help the immune system target and fight diseases including cancer and autoimmune disorders. This therapy is used to treat various conditions without presenting specific symptoms, and is typically prescribed to patients diagnosed with these conditions.

Parenteral nutrition (PN or TPN) therapy is a medical treatment for individuals who cannot eat or absorb food through their digestive system. This therapy delivers nutrients directly into the bloodstream and is used for patients of all ages with conditions preventing adequate oral or enteral nutrition.

Short bowel syndrome is a condition where a significant portion of the small intestine is missing or non-functional, leading to poor nutrient absorption. It primarily affects individuals who have undergone extensive surgical removal of the intestine and can present with symptoms such as diarrhea, malnutrition, and weight loss.

Ulcerative colitis is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that primarily affects the colon and rectum, resulting in ulcers and inflammation of the colon’s lining. It generally affects people of various ages, and can cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, and rectal bleeding.
